Supported Internship is a structured work based study programme for young people with additional needs who are ready and keen to work. Learners (interns) are placed at employers to learn a job role and develop their skills.

The hours worked depends upon the needs of the employer and the skills and abilities of the intern.

1:1 In-work support is provided by the college to support both the young person and the employer in the workplace.

The jobs are adapted to meet the skills and ability of an individual which must fulfil a genuine business need for the employer. In other words, the role the interns undertake should fulfil a role which makes a productive contribution to businesses.

Jobs are brokered between the College and each employer to ensure a good match between the skills and abilities of the intern and the demands of the role.
